Project Synopsis

Lionbridge is looking for independent contractors with experience interpreting over the phone for ongoing projects in the legal, healthcare, and government sectors. Lionbridge's over-the-phone interpreters answer calls as needed, accurately identifying and adding context to talks between speakers of different languages.

How You're Going to Proceed

Take responsibility for and accept incoming calls and discussions on-demand.
Determine the meaning of discussions in two distinct languages while staying up to date, polite, and professionally on delicate topics in various settings and cultures.

Get tasks that are usually presented as three-way calls that last between ten and thirty minutes apiece during regular US business hours.
Learn the proper vocabulary for the industry and utilize it while exhibiting standard operating procedures and practices.

In order to succeed, you must

advanced oral proficiency in both Spanish and English
Outstanding note-taking, memory retention, and communication abilities in the relevant language or languages
A language assessment in the languages you will be working in must be completed and passed. Prior experience with language services or interpretation is preferred but not necessary.
